USES:

Excenel Sterile Powder for Injection is a broad spectrum antibiotic for the treatment of bovine footrot and treatment of respiratory infections

in cattle and horses.

  • KEY FACTS

    •Efficacious; 92 % cure rate in cows with interdigital necrobacillosis (footrot) and 100% cure rate in bovine respiratory disease (BRD) in calves.

    •Fast and effective, reaches therapeutic blood

    concentrations within minutes.

    •Broad-spectrum — effective against a broad range of pneumonia pathogens, including those that produce beta-lactamase that deactivates penicillins such as ampicillin and amoxicillin.

    •Reduces fever without suppressing appetite.

  • SUPPLIED

    20 ml sterile diluent, 1 g and 80 ml sterile diluent, 4 g vials.

  • DOSE

    1mL/50kg, I/M

    Treatment should be repeated at 24 hour intervals for a total of 3 consecutive days.

    May also be used on days 4 and 5 for animals that do not show a satisfactory response (recovery) after the initial 3 treatments.

  • IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

    •As with all drugs, the use of Excenel Sterile Powder is contraindicated in animals previously found to be hypersensitive to the drug.

    •Well tolerated in calves of 182-316kg BW at over 50 times (55mg/kg/day) the recommended dose of 1.0 mg/kg/day for five consecutive days.

    •No meat or milk withholding period is required when the product is used according to label directions.
